A real bad version (NFL style) of Rudy.

I know it was made by Disney but there were NO parts which gave you goose bumps like all of these sports movies do.

The only reason I gave it a 2 out of 5 is because it was pretty cool how an average Joe made it to the NFL.

Could and should have been alot better (IMO)!!!

they showed the previews of this before the movie tonite and I thought the same thing. I don't go to alot of movies but I want my money (and time) back for tonites.

I actually thought of walking out but was scared that there was some great ending or something with this.

I'd at least give it a 3.5, if not 4.

I think if you've experienced something like that, you would give it a higher rating. I'm not saying I walked on a pro team, but I did walk on D-1 team, with NO experiece, other than backyard pick up games, not even highschool play.

I was cut before putting pads on my first year. Then made it a goal for myself to make it the following year and busted my ass for that year.

When Walberg was sitting at the coachs desk, and he pushed his playbook back to him, I know that feeling. When I went to the training room, and seen my name on the springball list, it was a great feeling.

And never playing a lick of football, then lining up with future NFL players was pretty amazing, sure their no big names(Fabini, Garnes, Hawkins) but it was an experience for sure.

don't get me wrong I think the story was excellent. It just didn't have any FEEL GOOD moments in the film like most of these movies.

It was like it was a big takeoff of Rudy and I wouldnt even put it no where near Rudy in terms of how good the movie was. Plus movies like this leave you wanting to better yourself in life and the music is uplifting and I felt absolutely ZERO of that in here.

It was just not very exciting and could have been MUCH MUCH better.

Exactly. Right on the money Iceman. Terrible writing. They had all the possibilities in the world with this movie. But ended up with .....nothing. That broad in the flick was smoking hot and what did they show us with her? Nothing. Hell, they could have at least used the priest from Rockie or had Paulie drop by the bar he worked at. This movie should be called 'Wasted Potential!

Its a greta sports movie for your wife/girlfriend. They will like the story, and you won't have to see some chick flick.

I enjoyed the movie. Good job witht he push/pull relationship with his buddies from the neighborhood, and what it meant to them and the city of Philadelphia. The abuse he took in practice, and the fact that his soon to be teammates didn't like him being there are all good, too.

This was a Disney movie, so you get that Disney formula. Know that going in, and I think it is an enjoyable movie. Go see it.

I heard the movie is rather deceptive for leaving out this little tidbit: In 1974, while bartending and substitute-teaching at Interboro High School, he successfully tried out for the Philadelphia Bell of the World Football League as a wide receiver. He played for the team for two seasons until the league folded in 1975.
