Fezzik: Will NFL parity return?

NFL favorites last year experienced an unprecedented run of success, evidenced when 58 percent covered the spread. AS a result, sports books and ‘value’ bettors were left wondering. These ‘value’ bettors enter this season with grave concerns that methods they have used for years may no longer be effective.

parity is long term. They are just as likely to go 58% again this year as they are to go 42%.

Old habits are hard to break. Even after a horrible 2005, it is just a knee jerk reaction for me to blindly take any ‘dog after a line spikes three points in the NFL.

It appeared last year more commitment than old habits. You were committed to play those same losing teams week after week and complaining how the stupid squares kept cashing. Is this a precursory excuse? The only thing good out of this is the potential to get you back where you belong, selling insurance. Any NFL challenges this season?

Last season was a bad year for dog players like Fezzik. Always good to look for underdog value when it is there, but sometimes it just isn't. Every season is different, every week is different, every game is different.

In my case, I've chosen to back three favorites in Week 1 and got in before the big surge in the lines. Obviously it's Week 1 where anything can happen - you would think blindly taking the whole board of underdogs after these surging line moves would provide value. But every game is different and getting a few extra points won't always help.

And I'm pretty sure Fezzik will end up taking the Lions if it hits 7!
