Seeing the Marlins have 6,000 fans at their game tonight sparked this question: what is the record for the lowest single game attendance in MLB (in the modern era)? Anyone know?

The A's in 1979 had an AVERAGE attendance of 3,787! The games were being broadcast on a college radio station and people were calling the stadium the Oakland Masoleum. The Marlins have a long way to go to match those years. Everyone expected the A's to be sold and moved out of town.

D-RAY fans are 2-1 over MARLIN fans it seems.

Actually a better ballpark in Tampa.

Yeah it might be the Sunshine State, but I would take A/C over that blanket of humidity over South Florida in summer. Even if they get their stadium, I can't imagine it being better on a Sunday afternoon if it isn't indoors.
