God, this is just a bad dream, right?

Arrest warrants are out for other top execs as well at Sportingbet.

I can't believe all this.

Now how do they enforce them? That's the real issue.

Let's hope the UK doesn't extradite them.

I thought things couldn't get worse after the BOS stuff. This whole anti-gambling crusade is just unreal.

I would be shocked if the Senate did not pass this bill now.

I am more pissed at these incredibly dumb execs who cannot stay out of America! Absolutely incredible.

The whole industry will take a major hit if Sportingbet pulls a BOS. No book will be trusted again.

Blair and Bush are tight. I predict they'll be sent to the US.

It's obvious the American gov't can't get bin laden, so they get offshore gambling execs. Pathetic.

Blair is in a political mess here in the UK. There is also the Labour Party conference coming up shortly. If Blair licks Bush's shoes over this one then he has probably just signed his own Political 'Death warrant' :pucking:

Memo: if you are an exec or ceo of an offshore gaming establishment, it may not be the best time to take a vacation in the U.S.

Yeah but he ain't going to last that long believe me. He is hated by most voters here & by the majority of his own party.

Go along with Bush on this one & it will be 'end game' for him even sooner :nohead:

If memory serves both Wash st. and Louisana had dem govenors and legislatures. If you think this is a dem-rep thing your'e very naive. Politics has become mostly sideshow. Reprentative government has intrinsic weaknesses for corruption and subversion. Points about Louisana are well taken but its been that way there for a long time.

I doubt a fed Justice Dept in a Dem administration would be going to the lengths that this crew is going. Porn and gambling are obssesions of the GOP moralists. So much for homeland security.

US-UK extradition treaty Article 2 para 1:

"An offense shall be an extraditable offense if the conduct on which the offense is based is punishable under the laws in both States by deprivation of liberty for a period of one year or more or by a more severe penalty."

An online gambling business does not qualify, but concurrent charges such as money laundering might.

Which is why they went after Carruthers for tax evasion, among other things.

People with jobs at the DOJ get GS grade promotions and bonus's for this type of stuff.

The average worker at the DOJ could probably care less---but their incentive is what drives capitalism Promotions= More Money!
