I'm beginning to think SD might win it. Any opinions?

Their offense sucks, but their pitching now that they have Wells might put them over the top.

tough 10 game road trip starts Fri for the Pads (at SF, Cincy, and LA for 4). This will be the make or break. The Giants have owned the Pads at Pac Bell Park

Just when you think SF has gotten it together, they disappoint.

Their pitching staff sucks - Matt Morris has been a bust.

It is very difficult to hurdle two teams this late in the season when you are 4.5 games out.

Odds on the Giants winning are much greater than they appear. They'd have to pull off a big winning streak and play .500 the other games. They cannot seem to avoid any losing streaks this season.

Think about it - even after 140 games, they are still just .500.

Morris a bust?

I wouldn't say that. He has given then over 180 innings and pitched well in spots. He is their 4th best pitcher. Not many teams can get what he has given them from their #4 starter. Schmidt, Cain, and Lowry are their 3 big guns.

They have a big 3 game series at home with San Diego starting tomorrow and end the season with a 3 game series at home with the Dodgers. They need to win at least 4 of those games.

They are 16-7 over the last 23 games. They are getting hot at the right time.

It is going to be an exciting end to the season.

Morris came into the season as the #2 starter.

Morris is paid millions and he is 10-12. That's a real success story.

Take away Morris, and they are fewer games back. Simple math.

Name me a few people who aren't paid millions.

He has a better ERA than the league leader in wins. His record doesn't indicate how he has pitched.

You really don't understand baseball if you believe taking away Morris would have pulled the Giants closer in the standings. The bullpen has been a concern all season and his ability to eat up innings has saved them from further damage.
