It was no mistake. If they tell you it was they're flat out lying. It's why I don't use them anymore.
I couldn't figure out why they would take so long to confirm. I'm sure you get a window that looks something like this --

If there is a line change, your wager will not be processed and you will be given the option to wager at the new line. Do not hit back or try to refresh this page. You must either confirm the wager at the new line or press cancel if you do not wish to place the wager at the new line.

Funny thing it would always take about 60 seconds to respond, so I looked at the source of the response page I get back while waiting. In there is a 60 second delay - in the body of the page is --

Note the 60000 timer (60000 milliseconds, or 60 seconds). They put a 60 hold on your confirmation, and process it afterwards.
