Does Roddick have any kind of chance?

I have a $100 futures bet on him to win $1,500.

I could bet $1700 on Federer to win $200 ($300 minus the $100 I bet on Roddick). That's basically even money on Federer.

Of course, I'd be pretty unhappy if Roddick were to somehow win.

Does anything think he has much of a chance?

What would you do?

I don't give him much of a shot....at all. I'm sitting on a small piece of him at +1609 myself.

I feel the same way. It seems like an easy $200 to me, betting on Federer.

Just hedge to win your 100 back. You can get -570 at matchbook. Roddick will not win. If he wins 1 set he will be lucky. No way can
he compete with Fed's backhand and groundstrokes. I betcha Roddick
will at some point today get rattled and his serve will not even be
working well.

If there is a venue where Roddick could win it would be Flushing Meadows....still he has very little shot

Former Wimbledon champion Maria Sharapova has been romantically linked to former U.S. Open champion Andy Roddick, US Weekly reported.

Tennis' latest glam-girl Maria Sharapova may be the new flame in fellow player Andy Roddick's life.

The Russian tennis beauty recently arrived at a posh New York party with the American star in tow, fuelling speculation about their budding romance.

However, Roddick, 22, who used to date Hollywood actress Mandy Moore, has insisted that he and the 2004 Wimbledon champ are just "friends".

But, sources close to the couple claim the rumour to be true, reports the New York Post.

"They are together," a close source said.

Maria, 18, who was last week linked to Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine, has jokingly denied seeing Roddick.

"I'm 'known' to be dating three guys. I guess I'm just a cheater. What can I say?" she said.

You can get Rodger to win 3-1 +206 @pinny.
It beats laying 6/1 and is a very likely ending.

I had such a crappy betting day yesterday that the thought of a "free" $200 is very appealing. Almost went for it.

However, IF Roddick wins (I know, it's impossible), I'll not only kick myself for missing out on $1,500, but I'll actually lose $200 in the process.

That would be just too demoralizing.

So I'm going to let it ride!

What book are you using? You only need to bet 1240 to win 200 on Federer at Pinnacle. That way you will win no matter how the match comes out.

+260 if Roddick
+100 if Federer wins

If puccini can get that number, I more than agree with this advice. That was going to be my original response. I just thought it looked like too much to lay for a hedge at first.
