... you are missing the greatest viewing experience going!! I find myself watching shows I would normally give a crap about just because it's so pretty!

I never thought something could come along to make me enjoy the NFL even more, but I was wrong!!!

After being transfixed while watching a cross country skiing event during last winter's Olympics I went HD.

Sure. Rub it in.

I will do it soon, I have to get rid of my big wood entertainment stand for a newer styled one so I can mount the screen on the wall. It seems like so much work.

Orgasm television, enjoy.

This HDTV thing it's been around a while huh?
True. 3-4 years?! Not everyone jumps out and buys every single upgrade the minute it becomes available. Also, there were not as many HDTV channels as there are now. I don't blame X for waiting, I am doing the same myself.

Aint that the truth Rob, I should have waited and would have saved a few bucks, and the sad part about it, is I rarely watch the HD channels.

I am in the same boat. I am ashamed at what I paid for my TV...especially when I see the same one these days that costs about 25% of what I paid.

I almost never watch HD so it was just another quick trigger/impulse buy that I have regretted ever since. :suomi:

I know that it is UNREAL. I remember watching golf on it for a bit. You can see the individual blades of grass and stuff. It is just NUTS.

Dante, if we could only catch a few more 1000$ promos. We would be all set.

Not to write shit about the deceased, but thank god HD wasn't readily available when Will McDonough was reporting. Not a pretty site early on a Sunday morning.

Check out Mark Cuban's HDNET channel. I find myself watching stuff on their all the time - it is like being there...

He films in 1080 lines/screen whereas most channels who claim to be high def use 720.

All HD tvs can handle 1080, some can handle 1300+

This is wrong wrong wrong. 1080p is as good as it gets, it's the highest resolution...and most TV's don't support it, although they are coming out (Westinghouse, new JVC, etc). 1080i is the tops for nearly everything, and most only do 720p.

There is nothing higher than 1080 as of now.....

it is great, but the problem is availability. There aren't many offerings in 1080i or 720p.

HDnet is fantastic in that their programming is all 1080i source material or been remastered. Problem is data compression that affects picture quality.

If 1080i is costly then 1080p is cost-prohibitive. The market isn't there and so the upgrades aren't worth it. But 1080i is good enough for now.

HDTV is definitely the way to go. My eyes are so use to it now that it hurts my eyes when I watch non HD TV/Programs now.

You should try watching sports on the super compressed signals of local channels via Directv. Some of the pictures from NBC's football game the other night were truly horrific. Today's CBS is no treat either. ABC is the only channel that granted me a waiver to get the east coast feed instead of my local.

Hey Lab what's happening man?! What the hell is up with CBS HD feed today. I don't have satellite but Comcast and the crap looks standard cable. This is happening on DirecTV too. It looks grainy as hell!

I don't get CBS in HD because my local affiliate won't grant me a waiver and I can't get the signal OTA. A few of the games such as BAL/TB is not available in HD to my knowledge. Which game do you have?
