Anyone know where one could get the AVERAGE lap times and number of laps for the various practices before the Nextel Cup races without having to sign up for TrackPass or whichever Nascar.com feature has that?

Single lap high speeds are readily available but average speeds seem to be "top secret" for some reason.

TIA,
LB

there is no doubt that the avg practice speeds can tell a better EVERYTHING!

if you do in fact gamble on Nascar, Trackpass on Nascar.com is a no brainer! I buy it every year without hesitation! It EASILY pays for itself

I dont see the avg times on this site this week. all the times you see are the mock qualifying times....which shows absolutely nothing about a teams car

From watching trackpass this morning, Vickers has by far the best car! He ran 15 more laps than everyone and still had the 3rd fastest average time! Kahne is just behind him. (i dont know what happened to Kahne in qualifying though! must have got real loose somewhere)

Qualifying doesnt mean too much to me...it does help being in the top 10, but 300 miles is plenty of time for Kahne to get his way back up thru the field.

Ill look at this site each week, but i like seeing the times live lap by lap

He'll put the spreadsheet up for happy hour practice avg lap speeds, which to me mean more than first or second practices.I usually only use those practices to gage quickly how a team unloads.Qualifying is a big variable some weekends, not really this one.Qualifying is huge however at some tracks and Ive found that alot of the times folks who start at the front are the ones that win (or at least battling for it) certain races on a regular basis, especially in Busch.

Jayski.com always puts up the top 3 fastest avg lap times from HH.

Since you have trackpass you could always share, right?

Yes,

I would be happy to share speeds. I just need to find a way to find them incase i am not at the computer at that time.

HH speeds are good only if the practice is at the same time of day as the race will be....

for instance, tomorrow, the practice at 8:30 will mean diddly squat b.c the track temperature will be sooo much cooler than it will be Sunday at 1pm

like basehead said....qualifying is important on some tracks more than others....It is pretty important here at Louden b/c the flat race track makes it hard to pass. Pit selection is also crucial

I will be playing golf tomorrow, so someone emai me at golfski16@hotmail.com and i will give you my logon information for trackpass...to catch happy hour speeds
