I used to live with a bass player years ago ... when his band played, if he fucked up, it was the most noticable mistake on the stage. And when he fucked up, the rest of the band was only a note or two away from screwing up with him. The bass is not only another set of musical notes, but it is your rythym, tempo, and soul of any song they play. Next time you dance, notice what you're actually dancing to. Chances are good it's the bass line.
So, no, bass players should not 'feel guilty.' They are a MAJOR component of any good band.
Definitely agree here. He's a bit of an egomaniac sometimes but extremely talented regardless.RobFunk said:I'm going to put myself out there. Ugh, I will hate myself for posting this.
I really think Sting is the man on Bass. The lines are always smooth and captivating. With the Police and as a Solo artist. Just great work.
The tune is called 'Numb' I didnt care for the album much either. Was a lousy follow up to Achtung. You had it right. I couldnt remember either, had to look.Journeyman said:Which Zooropa song? that CD was a little weak overall...I liked Lemon and Zooropa, rarely do I listen to that one anymore.
