I don't think they actually bet. Being persuaded by outside influences, now thats a different story.

American pro sports officials are very weak, you get hired via nepitism or politics.

i can say with 100% CERTAINTY

NFL officials DO NOT bet

NFL security is VERY stringent and if these guys bet - they will be caught - and they will be FIRED - ASAP

these guys don't get in ANY kind of office pool, fantasy football league, etc

TRUST ME on this one

More common than you think, especially in mlb. I am in the Minority that believes you can call a game, bet that game, and still make fair calls.

I think it is highly unlikely NFL refs bet anything. They seen what happened to Pete Rose.

NFL refs do not have money on the games or receive money for games outside of their work pay.

They are VERY CLOSELY monitored and the NFL is very careful to keep tight security regarding the actions of the refs.

At the same time, any system is fallible.

NFL refs are clean and straight.

The "back judge" in the Super Bowl last year had the Steelers on the ML.

They don't but I'm sure they don't mind accepting perks from certain people.

Why, because the back judge called intereference in the SB when there was interference? Are you still crying about being on the wrong side. Seattle backers made the wrong pick...get over it!!

LOL - a few couple more and you'll actually be in New England's class

As for the back judge, I am not mad at him - I just wonder if he sells his picks too.
