I find myself so pumped up about CFB and NFL, that I need to bet Monday for football even if there's no edge, and Tues-Fri for just action bets (usually baseball)

My normal bet range is btwn $100-$1500, but I make sure not to bet more than $20 on these action bets. Peanuts, I know, but at least I show restraint on my action bets.

Anybody else have the same problem?

Yes. If there is a game I want to watch, I WILL have action on it even if I can't find an edge; about 20% of my actual unit size though.

Nope - No +Ev and I take the night off.

That being said, with as many books as there are today, if you can'd find +EV on every game, you aren't looking hard enough.

There are props, quarters, halves, team totals, etc etc...

No, I'll watch the in-running markets at Betfair/TBX/Matchbook/elsewhere and usually find value at some point during the game.

I don't know what you're talking about...
I think "action bets" was referring to bets you make just so you have some action on the game, as opposed to an investment or value bet, where you bet it because it is +EV.

MJ is referring to Action Points. You get a unit for every point your team covers the spread by. Never have bet this way personally so not sure exactly how it works. Not sure if there is a stop loss in place if your pick gets crushed.

TeddyKGB used to make a lot of action bets, he's probably a good one to ask for advice.

It took just one game where I got maxed out about 3 years ago and that was that. No way I'd do it again.
