I know this probably belongs in the football section, but that gets less traffic at this time of night (morning?) so I'm gonna post it here. If the mods have a problem with that they can move it.

I'm going to drop Plummer as my backup QB for obvious reasons - who should I pick up instead? Most of the good QBs are already taken, here is who is left and is on my list for consideration:

Pennington
Leftwich
McNair
Cutler

Pennington seems like the obvious choice but he's not going to be playing Tennessee every game this year and I wonder if he can keep up his performance from last week...

Also, FWIW I have Brees as my starter right now (who is playing GB this week and thus I plan to leave him as my starter at least for this week).

You'd be crazy to do any of them and you'd be making a horrible fantasy move. You just dropped a top ten fantasy QB for a guy who gets injured every year on a team that won't pass much. Not a good move.

I wouldn't drop Plummer, but the best qb on that list is McNair. Of course ESPN would suggest the NY guy but he cannot stay healthy.

Did you see Plummer play? 3 INTS and 0 TDs. Fans in Denver are already screaming for him to be benched, not that it will actually happen of course.

Personally, I thought Plummer was going to be much better. His first Denver games he looked so sharp. Then he just fizzled

One solid edge for Pennington is that the Jets play a fourth place schedule and another is that the Jets NFC opponents are the NFC North schlubs.

I think the Jets can win six to eight games this year, though they might be in fact the "weakest team" in that win range.

They'll likely be behind a bit more often than not, which means Pennington WILL pass.

i think dropping plummer this early is a mistake. no need to make such a rash decision after one game. why not just drop a player at another position and pick up mcnair for this week, since he's playin oak? that way you can start mcnair and see how plummer does for a bit. it'll take more than a couple poor starts for shanahan to turn to cutler. pennington has done nothing other than this last game against a porous defense the past couple of years so i agree w/ jake...its a mistake to drop plummer, a proven top 10 fantasy qb because of one game. if ur qb situation is that shaky, keep 2 on your roster

I like Leftwich. I think he'll be more consistent over the course of the season and the Jaqs are contenders.

The Jets beat a very bad Titan team. I don't believe Chad & the Jets will be very good this year.

Then again, I've been wrong before & I'll be wrong again.

Why do you have to make this decision now, he's your backup. Wait until the week before your starter's bye week and pick then. Let things play out; there's no rush here.

BTW, I would say McNair of those listed, Pennington a close second.

Agree it is a mistake; he doesn't have to pick up ANYONE right now b/c Plummer is not even his starter. People's obsession with backup players in fantasy football has always been a mystery to me. Barring injury, you only need a backup ONCE a season. Unless your backup and starter are very close in talent (8 person leagues in particular), and you decide who to start based on matchup. If you have a clear cut starter do not worry about the backup until his bye week approaches.

It is an 8 person league.

Our league is formatted so that we must have 2 QBs, 4 RBs, 4 WRs, 2 TEs, 2 kickers and 2 defenses on our roster at all times. Thus if you want to pick up a QB you have to drop one. Otherwise yes, I would much rather have dropped my backup kicker for Pennington.

Maybe this was a mistake, we'll see, but I don't think anyone else in my league will pick him up, so I could always pick him back up later.
