Change the OIL every 3,000-5,000 miles/5 months.

Do a FLUSH of the collant system at it probably needs it.........and then every 25,000 miles after that.

Fill your WINDSHEID WASHER fluid.

Make sure you have at least 1/4 tank of gas at all times as it could possibly hamper your engine if under 1/16th of a tank.

Make sure brake and power steering levels are at proper levels.

You will need to change your air filter every 10,000 miles in all liklihood........as well as fuel filter if it has NEVER been changed.

Have all tires properly inflated.

When you take your care in for the required OIL CHANGE, they will check all your fluids for you, as well as other things but be careful they are not just taking you for a ride..........find a REPUTABLE service station.

Would also recommend you use 10-30 or 10-40 weight motor oil.........depending on where you live.

Do not settle for just the regular SAE-30.

Synthetic oil may be an option to look at also.........but most feel the extra expense is not warranted if you properly maintain your car.

Look in the owners manual and see when they recommend fluid change. Probably about time for transmission fluid change (if its automatic)

Be very leary of changing your transmission fluid..........as one may do more harm than good.

This is a very debatable subject.

For me personally, not going to touch the this fluid if I do not have a hint of transmission problems.

Again, some will tell you otherwise and some will do it the way I suggest.

A LOT depends on the YEAR, MAKE, and MODEL of your vehicle.

To Fish's point on the transmission fluid...if you are going to have it changed...go to a dealer. I took my baby (88 Cadillac El Dorado w/ only 60K miles) to jiffy lube and got the transmission flushed....they did not fill it back up all the way (said it is tough to tell b/c the tube where you put the dipstick to measure gets coated with the fluid making it tough to tell if it is full or not). When I left it was slipping, not changing gears, lost a lot of power and smelled awful. I took it back and they fixed it, but the experience could not have been good for the vehicle. Still pissed thinking about it.

they do that mrd694....you may need to top it off from time to time, but as long as you get it changed regularly you should not need to fill it yourself (unless it is not running properly and burning oil)

I have a 2005 330i. Oil changes every 50,000 miles using only the best synthetics. Most BMW drivers do not touch a thing on the car, the dealerships do everything. Congrats on your purchase. You will never ever want to own another car other than BMW. It truly is the ultimate driving machine.

Wally Mart they check everything and even do air filter for free $39.95 for Mobil 1. CHeck tires, All fuilds, Vac the floor, Wash the windows, check every minor thing you can think of and in about 30 mins if you go during the week. Not a big wally mart fan but like their oil change service and price. But I do have a good tech at my local store not sure you will find that every where.
