How many books hedge off at other books when the load is too much on one side?

It is likely that when the load is heavy on one side that it is the same at all or most books. Thus you won't get a good price to lay off, so I can't see any properly capitalized book doing that.

Can't speak for the big books of today but we never laid off anything. Why would you if you didn't have to for monetary reasons? When you start that when do you quit, where do you draw the line? Having needs is just part of it, keep it all and it works out fine in the long run. Start laying off your action and all it does is eat up your profits.
