20-30 clients that is?

If this bill passes, it may be worth a shot. How do you get clients, ones you can trust that is?

Tried taking some action at a local bar, but it was a no go, guys wanting to bet $5 and shit, I need at least $50 and up.

Let it be known at the right places.
Other bars.
Country Club
Taxi cab driver.
The list is endless...but beware, as there is a hazard out there.

I would imagine it is as easy as dealing drugs and has just about the same penalties...

Thought about that. Mingled in the diamond section at the local MLB game here. Was invited to a yaht club, thought about trying to find some clients there.

I wouldn think high end clients would be less of a headache. You'd probabaly get paid, and less problems so it seems.

depends

It really is all about your clients. If you branch out to people you dont know well you will find those people will stiff ya alot more. I wouldnt recommend doing it, but if you can get a group of clients that will pay then its not to be of a deal except forget about having a life during the day on the weekends.

I did it from 94-99 till my first born needed more attention.

On Saturday and Sunday mornings your phone never really rings just the call waiting.

Then you must stay open till last 1/2 time.

Now that the weekends over you must go traveling all over town to pay and collect.

It was easy and fun at first but really is taxing, the only reason I did it as long as I did was my love for money.

Don't let anyone fool you it is a cash cow.

The best part is when the steam plays go down more often than not then you need a wheel barrow to haul all the money around!

big misconception about "high end clients"

doctors, stock brokers, lawyers...ect.

will stiff just like any other average joe

fact is a guy that bets 50 to 100 a game will be your best player.......

1. usually he knows his limits...therefore he will not bury up and cant play.
2. he will give you steady action
3. the police wont knock on your door.......asking you about that accountant that was caught embezzling from his company...the guy who calls your number fifty times during the weekend..

also, another way to start the business is start with parlay cards that folks can play...anywhere from 10 to 50 dollars...3,4,5 teamers are the best...and money is included when they turn in their parlay card...just staple it to the paper the parlay is picked on...make tons and tons of cash and when someone actually does hit one... pay them with a huge smile on your face because he will lose that and 10 times that, plus tell all his friends...cash cow for the college and nfl football season...all you need is about 5 or ten players to start and they will spread the news...and when you meet them on wednesday to pass out the new sheets they will ask for more...this way there is no collecting the funds as you have already done that when they turn them in and you may have to pay out 5 to 8 per year...easy easy money...good luck...

What kind of penalty for a first offeneder? I use to dabble in it, lots of headaches- two guys stiffed me 10+ dimes....It is the life though if you can swing it, I use to get a lot of players thru work ...too much to worry about for my blood anymore.

Yep...I have talked about that story before, that SOB...what could I do though...he ended up payng me about 3 dimes over 2 years

:nopityA: and that was 10+dimes each...it ruined my season the year the Ravens won the SB...I stopped betting myself because I felt like I lost a lot of money.

I would think the smaller players would be best. I bet for fun. The people that bet for fun don't seem to put in the time to dive into it. When I used a book we would settle every other Tuesday and he would bitch that he wished everybody wouldn't bet more than they could handle to lose.

Also the little guy wouldn't ever be able to expose you so much. I would never want a guy to owe me 5,000-10,000. He stiffs you it would just kill ya.

I've passed out parlay sheets at work for years and it is easy money. Everybody thinks it so easy at 1st can't understand how the bookie can make money. After a few weeks they realize how hard it is and don't play as much. Most of the action can be passed on thru my offshore based on a much better payout than I offer on those sheets (always looking for the highest payouts and books that you can buy pts. on parlays). Have won parlays that way with ties losing but winning offshore. There is no risk of ever losing at all.
