What a gut-wrenching heartbreaker there. Talk about raising a program from the ashes. Black Knights were just inches away from a four-TD dog upset.

Good day for Armed Forces all around as Navy is putting a whipping on the trees.

On the negative side, is there a less likeable coach than Dennis Franchione. Come on Coach, first things first give Army credit for playing with heart--something your team lacks.

being ex-army airborne id follow ross into battle...as long as it was the begining of the war. id have to question his battlefield tactics if it were near the end with the battle on the line.:smoking:

And Patton could have been a head coach.

You might be on to something here.

Ross is a VMI grad who coached at The Citadel or a while. His son--who I believe is on his staff now--and I went to a couple of schools together while we were in the Navy. Good family, good people.

He actually mucked up the end of game clock management pretty badly. A&M bailed them out once taking a TO on D. Then he ran the ball from the 3 with no timeouts left and like 9 seconds left when he could have attempted 2 passes or a pass then a run.

After a heart-wrenching loss last week, Coach Ross gets troops back up and goes into another Big 12 school and pulls off the OT upset.
I'm sure someone will say it was just Baylor, but this speaks volumes for the coach and team's character.
