Alternative To NFL Primetime?

I watched Berman and Jackson recap the afternoon games at 7 or 7:30 (Eastern) for the last thirteen years on ESPN. It was just about perfect, one of the few ESPN shows I could still stand to watch. Now they're off the air and I don't know where to turn. Where do you guys go for your highlights on Sunday?

I'd prefer someting as similar to Primetime as possible -- starts 7 - 7:30 ish, no interviews, no fluff, just one or two guys doing highlights for an hour. Does such a show exist? After a couple of weeks, who's doing the best job?

I know I can see them on SportsCenter, but enduring the rest of SportsCenter is too high a price to pay. I'll just turn on ESPNEWS.

Thanks in advance!

there isn't one - except for NBC

espn had rights to the hilites in extended form until midnight when they showed the games - now NBC has exclusive rights to longer hilites till midnight

Thanks winkyduck. That avatar is great. Nobody can show anything until Midnight?!!? What's on ESPNEWS during the Sunday night game? What qualifies as a longer highlight?

So couldn't they have put Primetime on at midnight? I miss the show myself. I think NBC's sweetheart deal is bad for the other networks & viewers.

I still think it is a crock they can cherry pick games later in the season.

i don't know the exact length - but if you recall - primetime would show 4-5 minute pieces - now espn shows, what, under 1 minute?

they could do primetime @ midnight but the crew that does that gets there VERY early sunday morning. at times i got there to work on nfl sunday's around 7A and they were already there and they stuck around until 9Pish or later

keep them there a few extra hours and it ain't good - and now they have to catch a plane to the MNF game so they have to get out of there even earlier

as for midnight - i believe i read that somewhere - will have to speak to my friend's in bristol and find out the exact details. trust me - espn would LOVE to run Primetime in the slot they had it for that show is a cash cow - along with "BBTN" (baseball tonite - called BBTN there) and to give that up hurts $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ wise
