When you've made a bet and the line moves in your favour, do you scalp or let ride?

This is for a situation when you were making a straight one-side bet and the line moves when you didn't expect it to. What factors into your decision of whether to scalp or not?

If you scalp bets that move in your favour, and keep bets that move against you, you're not going to win..

I mean that the line moves in your favour in such a way that you can then scalp it.

The point Santo makes is you do one or the other, not both. You don't trade what turn out to be solid plays for the small return of a scalp while keeping the dogs.

Middling rarely works, it did for me on Saturday, had Neb +20 and USC -17, but rarely does that happen.

Woody: It's a different question, but if you buy the play with the intention to middle or scalp that's one thing, if a play you bet regular units on becomes scalpable, you shouldn't scalp it for that reason..
