had the same discussion in the CFB thread.
They have an outside shot at the national championship. They of course must run the table, and they'll need help. Look at the schedule's of most of the top 10 teams.
OSU has to play Penn State, Iowa, MSU, and Michigan.
USC must play ASU, Oregon, Cal, and finish with ND and UCLA
Auburn gets their toughies at home, playing Florida and Georgia at home, and on the road vs. 'Bama
FLA has to play 'Bama, LSU at home, at Auburn, Georgia, and end at FSU.
Georgia has Tennessee, at FLA, at Auburn, then ends with Georgia Tech.
Michigan has to play at Minny, at Penn State, Iowa, and at Ohio State.
People better watch out for Virginia Tech- masters at choking in the late season, but they got GT at home, at BC, Clemson, and at Miami.
Everyone in the top 10 is capable of losing. WVU/Lousville, one will have an inside track at the title game, but one's going to knock out the other.
Keep in mind that the ACC and SEC top teams will have to play a 13th game in the title game. Could hurt or help title hopes.
So are ND's chances good? Definitely not. Is there still a chance? Yes, especially if they run the table and beat USC on the road, something no team has done since 2002 I believe. If USC is undefeated going into it, and ND beats them, could propel them to the championsihp game. As for me, I'm just hoping we run the table and get into a BCS bowl...
