Locally- Growing up listening to Chuck Thompson here locally on the radio was something I will always have fond memories of.... Chuck was the Orioles voice, I spent many spring and summer nights listening to the O's in the dark , just me and the radio and the Orioles....Listening to Chuck Thompson , you always felt like he was your good friend who was filling you in on exactly what you were missing, friendly as they come, and fair, it would be HOF er Chuck Thompson....Thompson was also a national announcer calling some of the more memorable games in sports history (including the shot heard round the world on the radio version)...he was also the Colts play by play man.,,,His line 'Aint the beer cold baby' and 'Go to war Miss Agnes' (whatever that meant lol)
Nationally it would have to be Dick Enberg, whether it was the Steelers games in their prime, the Super Bowl or the NCAA championship games with Billy and Al , you knew it was big time if Dick Enberg was on the call, especially when he was with Merlin Olsen.
His line 'Oh My'
Honorable mention, Brent Musberger, similar to Enberg he has done it all, and you know when Brent is there the game is important , plus he always talks about the spread...'His line "You'e looking live at_________"
