Congrats to the Tigers. If only they were still playing in Tigers Stadium. Never been there, but it's the one place I'd love to see a game.

LOL Labeeb I have been to both stadiums. The new one is just so much better. The old one was in cork town not a good place to be.

Call it rustic charm, but I would have loved to see a game in that place.

Maybe too many years reminiscing over RBI Baseball and the team of bashers they had.

It was great to go with the thinking who could hit it over the roof in right field. Or to watch Trammell and Whitaker turn a double play. It was the players that made it happen. The stadium was falling apart and had terrible sight lines. Poles everywhere. You ever get in this area next summer Labeeb I will gladly take you to CoPA for a game. Than to the new horse track in the area.

This is one time I can honestly tell you I can relate 100%. My Clippers finally made the playoffs this year and the joy can't be put into words.

Enjoy the playoffs! :toast:

If life would have led me down another path, I would have been at the older track in Michigan (Great Lakes Downs) and would have made the ride over to Detroit a couple of times to sit in the outfield next to one of those huge beams.

You're crazy. Tiger Stadium had GREAT site lines. Not good, but great. The poles may have obstructed a few seats in the lower deck, but they made the upper deck the best place EVER to watch a game. There is not, and may never be, another view of major league baseball like the orange Upper Box seats at Tiger.

CoPa sucks because of the large amount of foul territory puts even the first row very far from the action. Tiger was all about the game; CoPa is about Illitch making money.

To each his own but in my eyes the Copa is twice as nice as Tiger stadium.

Congrats on your Detroit team. My Braves did not fair so well.

If the Twins were fully healthy, I would have given you the chance to win your money back on a 2x bet of the Twins winning it all.

But since it looks like your team is going to have home field, and the fact that the Twins will go on the road to NY, cant make that bet.

I still favor Detroit to win it all.

Comerica Park is very nice (and up to date), but there is nothing like a game at "the corner". I could not see the Tigers clinch today because I am one of those sheep that will continue to buy those season tickets for the Lions. What a disaster that team is. I am just glad we have the Tigers this year.

I dislike Comerica to view a game for exactly the reasons that JohnnyMac posted.

The amenities at Comerica are far nicer however, but that's to be expected considering it's a new park.
