Speaking of HS football.......my HS got a major shaft when it came to divisions. We got put in the same division as Bolles AND Trinity Christian (TC later went down a class my junior and senior year though thank god). If you don't know about Bolles......
Bolles costs $10,000 a year to attend, have won 16 straight swimming and diving championships in Florida, 5 state championships in the last 15 years in football, a couple track and cross country championships, a couple tennis championships, a couple baseball championships (Chipper Jones went here), so yea just a loaded school. Anyways in either 2003 or 2004 they set a national record by sending 12, TWELVE!, football players to D1-A schools on scholarship. The backup QB even got a scholarship..........
As for Trinity Christian, they have set ridiculous rushing records in the state. The foremost is a couple years ago when they ran for 729 yards in a PLAYOFF game. Guss Scott and Lamar Lewis went here, and this team is totally one-dimensional just pound the shit out of you.
As an aside, I have no idea why people say they prefer HS athletics to collegiate or the pros. There is usually so little parity and fairness it is ridiculous. We were a small little hick public school from Nassau County and got put in an 8-team division with 7 private schools (in everything but football). There is a reason there has been a huge movement among A, 2A, and 3A to separate schools into public and private.
