Bonzi Wells, the last significant free-agent talent on the market, agreed to a two-year, $5 million deal with the Houston Rockets on Wednesday, according to his agent.

Love him or hate him, it's a solid pick up for Houston.

this is the pulse of offshore sports gambling and not sportscenter therefore im reporting this as it should be moved to nba forum as offshore cluttered with insignificant bs like this ruins

Will help them offensively for sure. If they can have T-Mac and Yao for a very good portion of the season they are one of the top teams in the West.

Wells is now the dumbest player in the NBA....this guy turned down 5 years and 36 million form the Kings at the start of the summer and now he takes a 2 year contract at 2.5 million per year??? I can understand a 1 year deal to get himself back on the market as soon as possible ala Stephen Jackson with the Hawks a couple of years ago but locking himself for 2 years at such a low rate in the nba marketplace is dumbfounding.

he has an option after the first year and his agent has basically said he will re-enter the free agent market. I'll rent this guy for a year at that price though!

If he can play the whole season like what he did in the Spurs series, the Rockets will be a very dangerous team. But I doubt many teams think he will perform like that consistenly because of his attitude issue in the past. He definitely over estimated his value when he declined Kings offer.

And if the Road Warrior says it, it must be true..

Nice pick-up for the Rockets...since they wern't able to get James back.

Thanks for the info.. because i would have never gone to the NBA forum since it's not BB season yet.

Great signing by the Rockets. Just a little surprised that he signed a multiyear deal, as I figured that he would have just opted for a one year deal and then go back on the free agent market next season. At only 2.5 million a year, the Rockets got a bargain.
