I tell you what, I hope so! I do think of the data mining I do as panning for gold...and there is a lot of dirt out there!

By the way, one thing I wanted to tell you that I was thinking about. As you look for patterns remember that the data of teams over the course of a season is 'time series' data and is not from a static process. I wonder if you broke your data up into pieces and tried to find patterns within those pieces and not try to find patterns over the whole season, then maybe you might find some good relationships that way as well.
Time Series data has some inherent problems with finding patterns and meaningful relationships.

Tulsa, i want to once again tell you to pay attention to these plays..... I think i have found a virtual cash machine...... Ive spent hours crunching numbers from past events....... taking 100 play blocks out at random times from the pro-sports and my results are coming up the same....
tomorrow is Oct 1... and a good time to start paying attention to these.. I can only lead a horse to water, i cant make him drink...
ML Dog System: 40-43 (+10.83 units) in 16 days..
not great but very good and in complete agreement with back tested data.
