At this critical time with bill HR 4954 about to be passed with the ban on internet gambling attached you would hope the NROG is active on the floor of the senate and in the backrooms getting the opposition to this thing organized.

They're still stuck with the notice up on thier website saying that if Frist tries to attach this bill he won't succeed.

Why are you guys so cynical about an organization trying to help?

Jeesh.

Jeesh.

I wasn't cynical up till right now, but at each point what they have told us hasn't born much resenblence to reality.

I respect their efforts, but seriously...right now they have up on their website that if Frist tries to attach this he likely won't succeed while we all watch and call and see them passing the thing.

And Omni - your pointing at the finger at them does what exactly?

They volunteer their efforts to you free of charge and you have what right to say anything bad?

Maybe you should start looking to the real culprits instead of a whipping boy.

What will happen to the Rx now?

Most will be paranoid as hell to even log on to a gambling site of any kind yet alone try to place a bet.

What can be talked about here now other than we were all f'd good and proper by Frist and his band of religious fanatics.

Guess we can talk about what you like for the daily pick 6 in your local state lottery.

Did all the offshore books know this was passing tonight?

That would explain the run on all the bonus offers out there.

Get all the new money you can knowing you will be closing shop here in a few months.

It is not illegal to talk about gambling.

Also depending on what passes, it may or may not be illegal to place wagers. This may outlaw that or it may just deal with banking.

Either way, I have had enough of this country and am heading north for ski season.

Thats it. Cause panic.

DO YOU EVEN UNDERSTAND WHAT THE BILL IS ABOUT? HAVE YOU READ IT?

Dont be a moron with your multiple of posts about doom and gloom until you have something FACTUAL to say.

I guess I am just frustrated that the info they have given us at every step has been so inaccurate.

I didn't like that others pointed the finger at NROG earlier, and with the attatchment of this bill I guess I just got mad, especially with them right now as we speak still with a notice up on their website saying that this likely will not succeed. How is everone else so ahead of the curve than the organization that is asking us all for money to fight this and telling us they are on top of the issue?

Sean's right...I guess the issue now is to understand the language of the law. Hopefully it just covers banking and there might be some ways around it. Otherwise, guess I have to up my number of trips to Vegas per year.

They are more clueless than most posters here. Don't feel bad. You have every right to take shots at people that claim to know more than they actually do. That is half the fun of this board.
