I live in an apartment and haven't had any problems with neighbors for 9 years before now. The neighbors that live above me have caused a disturbance to me the entire 4 months they've lived there. I complained to the office management verbally several times, and written twice. I've stated my case as recently as Thursday, and this weekend my neighbors are still there. I live in an upscale apartment that go for 930/mo. I'd like to sue for damages. What do I have to do to get these peoples attention? I shouldn't have to put up with this shit.

If they're being noisy...

1) talk to them and tell them to keep it down
2) talk to them and tell them if they don't keep it down, you'll call the police
3) record them at their loudest and then call the police, so long as they're being noisy after hours the police will take it seriously. make sure you have a recording of them being loud so you have something to show the police if they don't show up in time for the show.

You should be down on your knees praying thanks to God; do you realize how lucky you are? There's a lot of assholes out there, as you should know from being a member of this forum.

Salain- I need to get a dictophone to record this "construction work" that goes on up there. Mostly random sudden crashes on the floor though so hard to record that.

Judge- Don't think I haven't thought about doing just that. Shotgun, so I dont miss.

Doug- I did feel lucky, now I feel cursed. These people weigh 300+ and think the floor is made of steel and concrete. Add to that there are 3 or more of them. Not to mention the apartment across the hall from me was vacant for about 6 months, and another 2 after these fatfucks moved in above me. Why the hell they couldn't move in on the ground floor?

Hearing about your fat neighbors has me thinking about my new neighbor upstairs. Used to be empty as well. Now this little 5 foot, 100 pound girl lives up there. You would think that I wouldn't notice her up there, right? Hardly. She marches around the apartment all day in what I have to imagine are cement military boots. It comes off like a bad Napoleonic complex.

You have the right to find another apartment. I would not call the cops or stick around too long if you complained and nothing was done. That is a very bad sign.

First of all, NO ONE should be renting for 9 years. It's really that easy to own if you can make the payments-and they can easily be close to what you're blowing in rent. Considering tax implications, you're screwing yourself BADLY.

I have all kinds of apartment nightmare stories....starting with morons dumping their ashtrays down the trach chute & causing a 15 story complex to be f'ing evacuated once a week when it catches on fire in the basement. F'in morons

What a shame...I feel your pain, I use to live on a bottom floor condo and nothign is worse then having a herd of elephants over top...they are probably oblivious to what they're even doing...that is what i always wanted for the people over top to hear the BS they are causing....what makes it worse you end up feeling/looking like the bad guy for just wanting equal rights.

You should move to the top floor.
