read this in a post across the street

'If it was to go through the Senate, they have provided a period of 270 days to look at the regulations and try to determine exactly how the bill will be implemented. We are not overly concerned at this point in time.'

Is this good news?

or at the very least do we have until jan 1 ( about 90 days)

If we do Im sure someone will think of something

The way my day is going, they should have started enforcing it at about noon.

The legislation does not take effect immediately, and internet gambling enthusiasts and online poker players countywide should not panic. “This legislation is quite vague in terms of its implications on payment options for those wanting to gamble on the Internet,” said PocketFives Marketing Director Dan Cypra. “The future of Neteller and Firepay, both offshore companies, remains to be seen.” Jay Bailey, Membership Director of the NROG claimed, “From everything we have seen regarding this bill, it looks like Neteller and Fireplay may be safe.” The Attorney General’s office now has a period of 270 days to determine exactly the extent to which the internet gambling legislation will affect this multi-billion dollar industry enjoyed by millions of Americans.

“The best thing we can do is be educated on what this bill will and will not do,” said Cypra. “It is important to remain calm and remain informed.”

The 270 days is a maximum. It will take some time, 90 days is probably much more realistic. If I remember correctly, the state of Washington took a few months after passing to implement.

There will be some work arounds for those interested in continuing, but I think the spirit and intent of the passage is clear. It is probably not worth the risk if you have another source of income. I plan on cleaning house by Christmas. My personal position doesn't warrant much risk at all.

What risk? There is vitually no risk to the player as a result of this legislation.

I hope you are correct Sir. We should learn a lot in the upcoming weeks, as this Bill is taken apart by legal experts.
