Isnt it wierd how games find a way to get exactly where the linesmakers set the games. I mean take Penn State for example today. I am on them (-19) and they are up 26. So a touchdown for northwestern makes it 19 for a push. Just seeems like alot of games happen to hit right on the line a lot of the times. I am a big fan of buying the hook for this vary reason.

I would be a bigger fan of betting PSU at -18 since it sat there for 5 days before it drifted on up to 20.

I had Purdue +14' after buying the hook, but in reality this bet had no chance of winning at all after watching the game.

Angelbroom, bad buy on that number. A lot of players here buy the hook. The key is to shop the hook. Play the best line and if possible at reduced juice. Seems simple but it is the differance in winning and losing. Grow a bankroll, have multiple outs and then if you get beat by the hook you did all you reasonablly could. Today for example I was trying to bet out an account I seldom use. Played Bama +16 there and used the reduced juice day to play it all. Bought back -15 and -14'. Not the numbers I would ever suggest but I just wanted out. Needless to say the best number fell for me. Unreal month as I middled games that no pro would even try.

Just IMO only, but based on many years experience, hook buying on or off the 3 and 7 is about all that is worthwhile.

In NFL totals on or off 37 and 41 should be considered.
