I agree with Win for the most part, will be a lot of "I knew it all the time" crowd piling on. On the other hand call me naive but I really believe most people that spoke up are doing it with the best intentions. If you've been here a while you've seen this whole song and dance before, it never ends well it seems. Problem is if you speak up you are a hater or jealous of the attention Ace gets, as a result most find out it's best to sit back and say nothing.
I still am not convinced he's a bad NFL capper, I think he has done well and has the potential to do it again in the future. What concerns me is his money management, same thing the followers compliment him on. MM is more than throwing out cute quotes like "bet with your head and not over it". It's having a bankroll and being consistant in how much you wager depending on your edge.
Today alone Ace had 59 units in action!! That is a fucking ton. I'm assuming a unit is 1% of his bankroll and that is HUGE. Many pros on the conservative side like to keep their total of 8% or less of roll in action any one day. That's just a general rule and is often broken but I had 9 units in action today and was pissing my pants until some of the early games came in. You simply can't make it long if you are putting almost 60% of your bankroll in action on NFL Sunday. There is very rarely that much +EV stuff out there if you are just straight capping games and betting them on Thursday nights!
You don't have to flat bet but base it on Kelly or some other system that works for you. Start with 100 unit bankroll and each unit is 1% of roll. Having 1, 2 and 20 unit plays does not make sense? If you think you have 10X more edge on a 20 unit play than you should never be making 1 unit plays to begin with. I just think he's a better capper than he is a bettor. For an exbookie he does some strange things that are teaching these people the wrong way to bet IMO. Buying off numbers in college at full juice makes no sense. I just hope some that are following are smart enough to not risk the amounts he is suggesting. Big unit plays on forums are for nothing but show, it's a painless way to chase loses but quite the opposite for folks betting real money.
I wish him well though, I don't think it's out of the question he will turn it right around in the NFL. My suggestion would be to forget about all these massive 20 unit plays and use his popularity in helping people learn smarter ways to bet rather than trying to win a ton of "units". For most the biggest challenge in winning is learning how to stay in the game long enough to do so, throwing 60% of your bankroll in action every day is a quick way to the rail. No bigger lesson for newer gamblers to learn than protecting the roll. Good luck guys, I really mean it, hope things turn.
