how much would an advantaged gambler have to make doing this to consider moving offshore?

Without US business will most places go belly up?

What will be the status of bonuses? Will there be more offered or less?

Do I have to physically move offshore, or can I still live in the US, but hold accounts and an address offshore?

Can I secede from the union like the Conch Republic of Key West?

Sure you could move, but all your "clients" would have to get an offshore address too.

To much trouble, it is coming to an end. I don't want to accept, but it has to be done. I am in the process of pulling my funds, and looking for other options for the future.

I think there is going to be some type of deal where it just gets regulated. They probably should have proposed that first before all these sites decided to shut the door.

Yes, or at least reduce in size by a lot.

Why would there be more?

Proxies? I'm not sure.

The "greatest" president destroyed our Constitutional right to secede.

It will take a good ol year to see where all this ends up , don't doubt that there will be more actions filled in the WTO

What it might happen is simply that the casual bettor will have a much harder time getting 'in' , it might reduce the market but the market will always be there

We might go back to 1999-2001 volumes

Too bad I don't speak Mandarin........that's the 'next' market

Btw I am sure this is going to piss everyone off but the US should follow the example of Italy

They offer now egaming licenses , that is, if you are an offshore operator you pay a tax on your profits from the Italian market and they consider you 100% legit

I am trying to move a bunch of funds out also. I really don't want to completely empty my accounts. Getting them funded again can be a huge hassle.

My country has decided that I am a degenerate. They have basically fired me from a job that paid me 10 times what I could make anywhere else. I think I am going to puke.

As bigbet has alluded to, I would have to disguise my address as well as every other person in my syndicate. This would be no easy task.

Holy shit, you're the George Jung of offshore bonus whoring!

Yea, it would be tough. You don't need to disguise them, you need clients from other coutries.

I think I will move to Canada, and run ad's in the paper.

I think he is saying he has 34 clients correct WVU? And if so they play offshore, or maybe I am way off base.

WVU, the offshore world will change dramatically. Smaller 'rogue' books will be mostly gone, as will much of the bonuses scene. The market will be dominated by a dozen super books. No more line variability or rogue books offering profitable teasers, point buying, etc, etc, etc. Squares will be flushed out of the American Sports markets, making it highly efficient. The top dogs will find a way to profit from this, while the WVU's of the world will go broke.

Wait to all the poker stars find out they can't make a living playing online poker anymore. All that sponsor money that they were making out the door. Then the public will find out just how far this gov't will go to take away our freedoms.

passingthewind,

the locals are going to make bank!! i don't have to post money, get paid in cash weekly. as far as poker, i live 20 to 30 miles from 6 clubs (hawaiin gardens, bicycle club, commerce casino, hollywood park casino, hustler casino, crystal park, etc) in southern california.

just so much easier to do it all online.

This is a good point.

BUT, it was also made apparrent by many posters here that we all wouldn't be in this mess if it were not for the ONLINE POKER EXPLOSION.

Also consider this with all the talk of locals making bank, most of us gave up the local scene when playing offshore. I cannot tell you the last time I had a legit local meaning one that was in my area that I met with weekly and settled. Now fast forward a few years, add a wife and kids in the mix and it's not like you go, honey I will be at the bar finding a good local again, just not the case. I think it will take time before anything is made more difficult for those that used and loved the convience of offshore, but in reality it may be the end for smaller players like myself that does not have all the resources as others.
