Could someone post the voting records on this issue for the house and the senate? I am making the gambling bill my sole criteria for voting in this upcoming election. I will vote for anyone I can that opposed it, and against anyone that voted for it. A simple concept, but as a one issue voter, my right to gamble is paramount. If required I can also write up a nice letter to cut and paste, edit for personal use. I think everyone should know exactly where each congressman stands on this issue. I will not count on NROG or anyone else. I will do this myself. So please, I need the vote, and from there I will get to work on the fight.

Thanks.

The senate never actually voted on the final bill, just said "we deem it passed when the house does"

That's a good start, any gambling legislation, even just the house is a start. Especially the sponsors or co-sponsors.

I was under the impression the Senate voted it in attached to the port security. Also one of my illustrious Senators, Honorable Diane Feinstein, Demo is a supporter of anti-gaming. She makes no bones about her stance. Neither do I.

This is just one way to fight the war. Especially with the elections upcoming. They may have snuck this by in a midnight session but they will have to pay the price if possible.

Thanks again.

I will draft a nice cut and paste letter.

I look forward to the letter Frog. I am not as skilled a writer as you, but I will definately stand by your side during this fight. Although, not a great writer, I do have a lot of heart and do not give up.

This is what was so enraging about the events of last Friday night. HR 4954 (the Port Security bill) was submitted to the conference committee without the Internet Gambling provision. The provision was then was added to the final conference committee report right before it was submitted to the Senate for approval.

It was sleazy politics at its worst. Apparently this happens so frequently in Washington that it was only deemed moderately newsworthy!

Yes, it was a late night end of session sneak by. The worst underhanded political move you can make. It is as far from a democratic process as you can get. It was the only way Frist could get it through. A last resort. But it is business as usual, so unpreventable and not newsworthy. Who were the committee members of the port bill that signed off on having it attached? They are the real Buster's here.

I heard 10 senators said nay when asked whether this should pass unanimously. Unfortunately, that was not enough to push it to a recorded vote.

I can't seem to find a list of the 10 who said nay.

And yes, we should get a list of everyone who voted for it, split it up by state, figure out which ones are up for reelection and get them voted out.

It would be very easy to target millions of people by state on a site like myspace.

The people who will vote them out are the 18-30 year olds who don't usually vote.

Any computer programmers out there who can set somthing up to email people by state on myspace?
