Tn's Playoff Thread - Starts with a 5 unit play!

First play is a huge one.

St louis +147 (5 units) (series bet)

I know they ended the season slumping but here is my reasoning. Two words. Carpenter, Pujols. Each player is good for at least one win on their own. Now I only need one more win and one of those two guys can get that too. I look for Eckstien to play a big part setting the table for Pujols. Look for the Cards to take advantage of San diego's weaknesses. I expect them to run often on Piazza. Also the lack of lefthanders in San Diego's pen win come back to hurt them.

I usually dont like to back a team that is coming in slumping, but in this spot I feel their lineup is getting healthy and at this price it is a bargan I can not pass up.

Carpenter will cancel out Pujols production in this series. Carpenter has dead arm. Look at what he's done since going over 200 INN. There are great pitchers who have their limits - and Carpenter has reached his. I'm not disagreeing that STL wins in this game. I just don't think it will be because of Carpenter's performance.

Carpenter has two bad games to finish the season 15-8 with an era of 3 flat and his arm is dead?Stl. should just get rid of him.I guess you don't remember he did the same thing last year and then mowed em down in the playoffs.Carp will perform.

The great ones find a way. Plus he also got a couple of extra days off when they clinched early and he didnt have to pitch the final game. I dont think he will be perfect and see San Diego scoring a couple. I just think out of Edmonds, Rolen and Pujols someone will get a hold of Peavy. Like the over a bit in this game but won't pay -115 or more for over 7. If I find -105 or better it will be a play

Nice catch on the series price. Saw a -1.42 already. My only concern is FROG's law of post season decline.

2004, make it to WS, lose
2005, make it to 2nd series, lose
2006, ...

But either way, excellent value, nice catch TP, GLTU.

yeah give this guy some props. He even called how it would happen, Pujols and carpenter in game one, 2 run HR and a solid pitching performance.

Thanks Frog. Nice work yourself with the easy winner on the Minny under and prop bet. Wish I had seen it before the game as I liked it and would have piggybacked with you. Happy I passed on the Yankee total. Pitching told me the under was the play, but every time I looked at that yankee lineup I thought over. Doubt I will bet any unders involving the Yanks. Down pitching year for them and the strongest lineup they have put out in a long time. Looking at a couple of options for tomorrow. Hope you post your thoughts as well

Gamebreaker, Thanks for the compliments. Wish they would follow the script like that every time, lol. Weaver scares me a bit. He has good stuff, but usually beats himself under the spotlight. Looking at the over if the number is right.

Going against the masses today. Have not found one person on Oakland at any forum. Wagerline is all over the Twins etc. Loazia has been much better than Boof. I know it is a must game for the Twins, but with Santana yesterday it was also, and they lost.

I also bet a unit on the under in the Twins game but wont count it on my record. If Loazia's cutter is working I don't see this game getting to 7

Mets/Dodgers

Here are my thoughts on this game and series. Mets pitching is a mess. Dodgers hitting as hot as it has been all year. I am not a Lowe fan. His weakness is lefties and the Mets have plenty of them. For that matter the majority of the Mets lineup has owned Lowe. Maine has only faced the Dodgers once and faired ok, but that Dodger team had a few key players out. I think that the mets will get game one in a high scoring affair, and the Met backers will jump on the bandwagon for game two. At that point I will take some dodger series bets as I feel the Dodger lefty can dominate in game two. More about all that after game one.

Hey TN,

Awesome start to the playoffs my friend. I wish I would have been on your Cardinals play for both yesterday's game and for the series. Missed out on both. However, have been doing great myself, 2-0 with Mets and Yanks over 9 pending.

Really liking Dodgers game 2, especially if this score holds up. Will be waiting to see the highest + number I can get with LA.
