First baseball play this year but I can't resist.

Cardinals +110.....Carpenter will be throwing on 2 days extra rest that he needed after being overused by Larussa in 2 previous starts. Cards have had plenty of success in the past vs Peavy and since he is not lh which is whom Cards have struggled against this year, I see them having success today. My only fear is if bullpen can hold the lead after Carp hands it over but really feel though he is unproven in closers role, that Wainwright has shown enough to handle the job with Looper returning to setup role. Cards won't take 2 in SD but they will win Game 1. With Wells set to throw Game 2 and his success vs Cards coupled with Weaver throwing Game 2, this is a must win for Cards and they will get it done.

Took the Cards too, not because of the Cards, but mainly because I think the Padres are garbage.

I'm still waiting to see the Padres suck, I know they do but every time I bet against them they always win. They've been killing me all year long.

The #8 Seed gets it done in game 1! Everybody thought I was being a homer but wrong. Cards are healthy and even bullpen looked good today with Tyler Johnson and Adam Wainwright. If Padres don't win Game 2, this will be a sweep! Strong lean to Padres with Wells pitching and history vs Cards but all the pressure is on them. With Mets sp issues and Cards dominance over Dodgers, they might just fill that big underdog role all the way to the World Series! This team played like 04 and 05 today. They are going to be an extremely tough out in the NL!

My play for tonight if I play would be on the under. Feel Robertson holds down the lh bats of Damon,Giambi,Abreu, and forces Posada to bat rh. Leyland is a genius at keeping games competitive. Yanks likely win but feel this will be a 2-1 or 3-2 type game.
