Nice call by Berman, 'it was a tough play'...the ball landed 5 ft in the playing field...Piazza completely blew the play and gave STL two runs.

Hershiser doing all he can to say what he thinks without making Berman look like an idiot...any MLB catcher should make that play.

I thought the ball caroomed off the fence around fiftheen feet up on the way down which made it land behind a lunging Piazza. Maybe they will have a replay that will stay on the ball as it comes down.

This is very similar to game 1 last year SD had their chances but could not break thru.

Carpenter is stingy with men on...Piazza can't get the clutch hit either...up to Branyon 1st amd 3rd , 2 outs.
