A friend of mine sent me this statement from Bowman's. Don't have the "original source" but this guy isn't one for BS:

>>>
Bowmans wishes to reassure its clients!!
10/03/2006
"Bowmans operates off shore outside the US and holds licenses to conduct
online betting and gaming issued in the Isle of Man and Mauritius
respectively. The proposed new law concerns payment processing from unlawful
internet gaming. Bowmans does not regard itself as operating unlawfully in
the US or anywhere else.
Bowmans has its own payment processing service, which will continue to serve
clients with the excellent service as before. We will continue to review the
issues arising generally from the new law and will advise you as and when
necessary.

Bowmans has taken legal advice from emminent US lawyers and is acting on
this advice and there are no plans to close our payment process service nor
do we plan to close our gaming web site".

The feds have given offshore sportsbooks hundreds of millions in free advertisements.

I bet the offshore industry is $20B in 2 years and there will be one less sex offender wandering the street - that is what will come from this debacle. (Don't think for a minute someone who hates the GOP didn't rat that guy out)

Tell it like it is!

The ads are not amongst the stadiums they're painted into the turf so you can't help but see them many times during the game.

Hard for those of us in the US to fathom, but internationally most pro sports leagues have no issue with sports betting--online or otherwise. For those of you not familar with English Premier League soccer, follow this link and take a gander at the Tottenham Hotspur team jersey:

Fuck Em!

Don't know about you, but this doesnt sound like democracy to me.

The mods moved the thread, not me. There is a difference between a regular poster giving kudos and the site giving their own props and kudos.
Yeah, right. As if there aren't regular posting shills here.

you were specifically referencing a thread that was started by a book bearing the same name as the thread starter. I was responding to that particular situation.

Good for Bowmans and all others that will come out of the woodwork and say FU to the proposed changes in the US ...

Just wait until the cost of enforcing this ridiculous bill comes in over the next year or so and watch it hit the fan.
