Once again I am just amazed by how our government worries so much about morals that they can't see the forest for the trees. They could have just taxed internet gambling and made a ton of money, instead they try and outlaw it...dumb, dumb, dumb. Although Western Union pretends to care and made a half ass effort to prevent deposits to gaming sites (putting up a sign saying they prohibit it isn't really doing anything), I suspect once this new law is in full effect, we will probably lose WU, Neteller, and Firepay (then what else is there). The local book at my club has already approached me about opening an account with him (I hate playing with credit). The one thing I loved about internet gambling is it helped me stay under control and practice better money management (afterall, if nothing is in the account you can't wager). I did the bookie thing years ago and I always caught myself overextending because of the credit thing. Then of course, there's the drop off and pick up (what a waste of time...plus you're always concerned someone will see you). Between this, prostitution, marijuana use...I could go on, we're just missing the boat. People are going to do it anyway so why not make money off of it by taxing it (it would also make things safer in the case of prostitution and marijuana).
