Why is gambling legal in the USA state of Nevada but not legal
in the same manner in other states? Do individual states get
to vote if they want Nevada like gambling? Why ban online
gambling but not Nevada type gambling?

It's a state's issue. Like marriage laws and regulations. They choose to either regulate and allow certain types of gaming (lotteries, horseys, and injun casinos) or exclude any and all. Here in Arkansas we embrace the ponies. OOOh that gambling is so evil.....unless you come on down to Oaklawn and lose your paycheck to us. LOL

These all techincally require the folks to be physically present within the jurisdiction (excepting the OTB deal). Clearly the federal govt nor the overwhelming majority of states (all but 2 have some form of legal wagering) are NOT anti-gambling, or there'd be no lotteries, no ponies, and no damn ripoff Injun casinos.

The methods that get the politicians the greatest kickbacks and returns are preferred and allowed.

Betting over the phone and "cable" falls under Interstate commerce, hence this is where the Feds kick in.

Yeah good question. These dumb-ass REPUBLICANS. Bible-humpers. Go practice your religion and leave everyone else alone. Let people gamble and have sex in unorthodox positions and let them all go to hell while you go to heaven for telling everyone else what to do and for doing a baker's dozen of 9 year old boys. Hypocritical do as I say not as I do MF's.

Ridiculous. These politicians are such a freakin joke. How we could have a bunch of people leading our country making sexual advances at young girls and boys but tell everyone else not to gamble.

LICK MY BALLS!!!!!

So a Las Vegas resident can legally gamble over the phone
and via computer within the state of Nevada, e.g. with a
sportsbook in Vegas, since this would not be "interstate"
but rather within one state?

As far as I understand, in some venues yes. A few casinos/books are set up for internet gambling I believe. About the phone, I really don't know.

You have to be within the state of Nevada to place the wagers and it would be legal with a licensed bookmaker/casino. As far as I know. The key here is you gotta check the rules and regs of the State of Nevada.

disclaimer: this is not legal advice, consult an attorney for verification before proceeding.
