Finding an agent is essentially the same thing as finding a local. An agent has sheets with bookmakers and almost always deal on credit with the players he places on his sheets. Offshore books do not send agents to specific spots to recruit unknown players, you have to make contact (somehow) with an agent or local and supply your on bona fides before anyone will deal with you.
One of the better ways to do so is to get to know other bettors and get referred to an agent or local. One way to do that is to make friends in bars. Natrually if you want to post up with an agent it probably would not be a problem but then you have to be able to trust the agent to pay you if or when you win. Dealing with an agent can be dangerous because unless the agent has an impeccsble reputation with someone you trust you could end up being stiffed.
Thanks for the info BUT..I thought they essentially worked for a major book and they just square and pay you or vice versa? You bet with the book but to settle you meet someone from the book, basically, to settle the finances. Above is a little different than I thought. Does above have anything to do with a major book?
