I agree 100% with Wells getting chased early. I don't know if you read my thread so I will state it here. There was some major bulletin board material for Cards. First, after Game 1, Dave Roberts guaranteed a victory in Game 2 to Sd beat writer. Second, on SD sports talk shows, they have been saying last 24 hours that if Carp wasn't on an extra two days rest they would have won and during that process downplaying performance of other Cards. Third and in my mind most significant is the Cards history with David Wells. Few people know that Cards had deal in place with Red Sox to acquire, you guessed it, David Wells. Wells refused the trade which was no big deal but his quote afterwards was and I quote"I will retire before playing one inning for the Cardinals." Throw in fact of bean ball history in 02 with JD Drew and 04 Comments that Cards are beatable should super motivate not only the vets but Larussa and Jocketty. Cards roll in this one and series. BOL
