Having checked out of the Grand Hyatt of Manhattan's East Side, the Tigers had to change hotels and wound up at the New York Hilton and Towers on the West Side. This all happened after the game was cancelled. I think with them having to get to get another hotel late at night getting into their room and finally relaxing it was late!! I think this totally favors the Yanks!!!

also, with the A's being up 2 games to none going to Oakland, you would think the Yanks would want to get this series over to get this 2-0 going to Detroit, rather than 1-1. Dave

Switching hotels, if true, could actually piss some of the Tigers off and give them an edge. But i really think that the edge goes to the better pitching, and Mussina and Verlander faced the Tigers/Yanks once this year. Mussina had a complete game victory, allowing 1 ER. Verlander struggled, i believe it was 5inn. and 6ER. Mussina's win came when the Yanks were hurting in their lineup, and conversely, Verlanders struggles were when the Tigers were hot. YANKEES -1.5

I'm with you guys Yanks -1.5.....I think the postponed game gives the edge to the Yanks....Nothing like being in your own bed, etc..Especially with a day game.

2006 Day Games:
NYY 35-23
Det 28-30

Tigers think that Yanks had inside info last night. Verlander was soft tossing in the outfield, thinking 10PM start. Moose rested. Tigers might be angry and motivated by this, but I think experience wins out. Verlander was upset when interviewed and said he might not sleep well. Yanks feast on power pitchers like this. I'll go with the seasoned veteran Mussina backed by a lineup that the NY Daily News today compared to the 1927 Yankees, on the RL. I already have future bets on NYY to win AL +120 and WS +175, lol. Oh, btw, I'm a Met fan. Just don't see this juggernaut getting stoped, especially by a young, ice cold Tiger squad. Only achilles heel might be pitching, perhaps vs. A's. Not the case today with in form seasoned veteran Mussina.

NYY -1.5 -110

Still available at -115 at Pinny and Mansion. Could even hedge back later as line will rise. Played yesterday at -1.5 +104 (missed the +110 overnight) and bought some back at Det +1.5 +110 after seeing the weather report.

I am also taking the Tigers for that value,

BEST CASE SCENARIO.......both starters go 6 or 7, and it comes to middle relievers.

Zumaya vs Farnsworth
Rodney vs Dotel
Walker vs Villone

I like all 3 of those possible matchups.......Closers, now thats a different story

Verlander has been inconsistent down the stretch, but is pitching on 10 days rest..... I think its time to even the series

However, I'm probably wrong....you're all probably right!! Best of luck to everyone on the diamond today!!
