They better go after the child molesters and other internet predators before going after some poor guy that wants to make a bet on his computer. I think this government has their priorities all fuked up. In my opnion, everything will be back to normal next year.

Anyone who thinks they will not be able to place a bet online in a year, better check and make sure they can still take a piss standing up.

I agree you will be able to. I also think it will be much more difficult and people will be less apt to jump through the hoops.

WVU, how do you forsee banks blocking EFTs, checks, and wires without interrupting the global economy? I've asked three bankers and they all just laugh.

I agree with you that Neteller may cease to function, but dont you agree other alternatives will come up?

To you and I who enjoy neteller's conveniences this is a big deal, but to the common person who plays at one book, they are gonna go to whatever transfer system the book recommends. My feeling is as long as books keep advertising (And they will) people will be directed to how to pay.l

agreed Sean. One of the hoops is using something other than neteller. It took a while for many to open up a neteller account. It will take them even longer to open up an alternative method especially considering many think (or will think) online gambling is illegal. I am not talking about the diehards that post on message boards, but the average joe gambler.

So true. Reminds me of the old days. My closest Money gram was 40 minutes drive, but I did it since that book said that is the fastest way to get funds into my account.

Those of you who first started to play OS in the early and mid 90's, I'm sure some of you bent over backwards to get posted up at one time or another.

one year from now YES five years from now who knows, Leach claims they will eventually shut it down.

Rep. Jim Leach, R-Iowa, has led the gambling crackdown in the House of Representatives. Greg Wierzynski, a spokesman for Leach, said."Many of these sites will disappear," Wierzynski said. Although some gamblers probably will find ways around the ban, the new law will make it much more difficult for offshore websites to handle American business, he said.

"We have no illusion that this is going to be 100 percent effective," Wierzynski said. "I'm confident that some will find a subterfuge. But those sites will eventually be shut down, too."

There are two ways that you will not be able to place an online bet in 5 years from the US.

1. The United States decides to block all trade and banking transactions with all other countries.

2. The United States decides to build 3 more prisons at every place where a prison currently exists.
