I've always been one to defend him as I think he has the best tools of any player most of us have ever seen or ever will see. But to strike out looking on 3 pitches with the bases loaded in the playoffs at home?

CHOKE :pucking:

...let's just hope he redeems himself in a later AB.

While ignoring the fact that Jeter screwed up a bunt with one on and no out and grounded out weakly with two on and two out.

Sorry but popping up a 100 MPH pitch and grounding out weakly are both more impressive than LOOKING at third strike with the bases loaded.

nice jon AROD, I love telling the story about when the Yankees got swept by KC last year. The first two games the yanks got beat as - 300+ favs. Heading in to the last game EVERYBODY loaded up on the yanks. Well guess what AROD did, my favorite all time baseball stat.......drumroll....

0 for 4 , 3k's on a total of 11, YES 11 PITCHES. LOL:finger:

A Rod is garbage. I want my money back from the $300 bet I made at +300 on Big Papi to win the MVP in 2005. Anyone who voted for Gay Rod should be taken out back and fucking shot.

absolute joke vote that was. no different than Gino fucking Torreta beating Marshall Faulk for the Heisman in 1990

Perhaps instead of harping on how A-Rod choked by striking out with the bases loaded in the 1st we should give some props to Verlander. After loading the bases he comes back with two 101 mpm fastballs followed up with a nasty curve. It wouldn't have mattered what Yankee batter he was facing in this at bat the results likely would have been the same. Not defending A-Rod but sometimes a pitcher throws unhittable stuff and there is not much a batter can do.

A-Rod did not produce yesterday, that is for sure. But, who in the lineup did? Only Damon, and Matsui.

And also, he only had 3 k's, one out was a pop-up to shallow center. He had 3 k's. I knew he was going to be ripped, he always is. But I just was hoping to see some blame put on the rest of the team as well. Cano almost won the batting title, 0-4, jeter was 2nd in that race 1-4. Sheffield and Giambi, both hitless.

If you watched the game, you could easily see that if you did not get up early in the count on Verlander, he was going to strike you out. You needed to hit one of his early fast balls. He throws so hard, you have to be guessing fast ball to hit it, and when you do that with 2 strikes, it about makes it impossible.

i agree with you Zooropa, I woud like to see Jeter at the plate during this postseason with their whole playoff series/season on the line and to fail. and see what the NYY faithful say then. Given, Jeter does have a good chance of succeeding in that situation. same goes for Giambi, who uses steriods comes back and bashes A-Rod.

Absolute joke is that peope think Ortiz should have won the award. Arod sucking in 2006 does not mean he shouldnt have won the MVP in 2005.

Did you see how proud of himself Arod was went he got hit by that pitch. What a dipshit, 2 outs no one on and hes proud of an hbp. what an absolute *****, he needs someone to take him in a room and kick the fucking shit out of him. Dude he is a curse, so glad the yankees got him.

I don't know what I'm enjoying more...watching a washed up Unit get POUNDED or watching Arod have yet another horrible postseason. As always, F NY.

Trade A-Rod to the Phillies next year...You owe us for the Abreu trade....I'm sure all Philly fans would not object.

Arod is lucky to play for a team where his failures do not show AS MUCH. Here he is again in other big situation and he is failing. Again.
