5* New York Yankees Team Total over 5.5 -122
This play is based on a lot of things. First, is I am a big believer that veteran lineups can hit veteran pitchers, particularly veteran pitchers that arent overpowering. As I've mentioned plenty of times, I like the pitching edge when young power pitchers face veteran lineups (Verlander/Beckett vs. the Yankees). On the other side, I like the hitting edge when veteran lineups can face off against a guy like Kenny Rogers.
I'm not playing the regular total, because I don't know which Randy Johnson is going to show up. I'm not a doctor, and Im not Randy, and I dont know how his back is going to effect him. He may step his game up for the post-season, he is still a 6'10" lefty striding halfway to the plate throwing a hard fastball, and hard slider. He's tough on hitters, regardless, and he could give up 1 run for all I know. So I'm going to stick with the bet, that I feel is a sure bet, and that is for the Yankees to do their part in this over and play the team total.
Yankees now, almost have their backs against the wall since Detroit has the home field advantage. I think some guys in that lineup are due for a couple of hits like A-Rod. I think Jeter will get back on track and this Yankee team goes as Jeter goes. A good offensive effort from the Yankees in a critical game 3.
Good luck
