Love the Tigers tonight. Randy Johnson simply is not the same pitcher he was a few years back. He is very hittable now, that's no big newsflash. He finished with a 5.00 ERA. Plus he has a wonky back. I am moreso betting against RJ than betting for Kenny Rogers, even though Rogers had the better season. At +151 you have to go with the Tigers. I would take them at a pick 'em. Detroit's playing their first home playoff game in nearly 2 decades, so the fans should be pumped up. Should be a raucous crowd loving the prospect of putting the Yankees on the brink of elimination. :suomi:

While Johnson is not the same pitcher he used to be, I can't bet against the Yankees bats going against Kenny Rodgers. Yankees devour pitchers like him, and if they get to him early it could be ugly. This is a no-play for me, I'm just gonna sit back and enjoy. The tigers do have value though being at home and having "momentum"

The Yankees lineup does scare me somewhat. Christ, they're a fricking All-Star team. I don't think Rogers will totally shut the Yankees down, not saying that. I think the final will be something like 9-5 or 8-5 for the Tigers.

Haven't decided on Game 4 yet. Going to see how this one plays out before I make a play on that one.

Over,over,over!!

Johnson not the same...Rogers always rocked in post-season mostly by Yanks..2 power-laden line-ups...John Hirschbeck no where in sight...Pounding the over.

the over would be my play as well. Even if randy does decent (which I suspect he won't due to his back), the yanks pen is suspect. Every one of those guys could blow it - Proctor, Farnsworth, MEYERS, all of them.

Johnson 2-0 vs Detroit in 2006. The Tigers hit .125 in those 2 starts.
Rogers zero starts vs NYY in 2006 (purposely held back)...NYY roster hits over .350 vs Rogers.

It's amusing that there are zero player props including Jeter, Posada, Giambi, Matsui or ARod...might it have something to do with the fact they all have at least a .400 batting average vs Rogers?

I like the guy with the red sox emblem talking tigers baseball. can we get some people that aren't betting with their hearts and actually cap with our heads. The yankees have always owned Kenny Rogers. If Johnson gives any sign of trouble or pain, hes gonna get yanked and Torre will put the pieces together to make it work. The Yankees need to win the swing game if they want to win the series. And they will. Final score 9-3...good luck to all!

Not betting with my heart actually. Maybe I should have a Tigers logo as my avatar in order to cap this game - LOL. Just think RJ will show his age tonight. Detroit will get a big lift from their home crowd and will put up at least 8 Runs tonight.
