Whether or not Torre deserves to be fired is a separate issue. I dont think hes the problem. Casey Stingel would have major issues figuring this team out. The problem is the front office.

With all that being said, its almost a lock that Torre will get run next week.

This is maybe the most high profile managing/coach job in all of sports.

This may be the one job where another manager currently with another team would leave to take.

What does everyone think about Lou Pinnela? That would be fun.

If I were the Yankees, I would give Tom Kelly a call. I think he would be a perfect fit.

But the real problem is the front office.

Chop..I'm a lifetime Yanks fan and I'd love to see Mattingly (now the hitting coach) get the nod. Him, Raghetti, Guidry, and Martin made me a Yank's fan as a kid. Being a southpaw, I followed Mattingly and Raghetti religiously.

He will quit, doubt he gets run. What does he have left to prove anyways? Better to go sit in a press box and make plenty of money calling games then have to deal with this headache.

chop likes my choice. but i like this choice better. Yanks could use a swift kick in the butt. And if they keep arod, there is no one that arod likes better than pinella.

Girardi doesn't need that so early in his coaching career. Best choice is a professional veteran who won't get unsettled by the BS that goes on in NY. Cito Gaston makes sense for that reason.

The only logical choice is to bring Billy Martin back one last time. :103631605

Let's face it who else has experience with such decisions, which otherwise clean up hitter sits on any given day? Doesn't really matter who they pick, but will come down to how much of a yes-man they want in the spot.

Why not let Frank Robinson get to the playoffs, anyone in this forum could get them to the playoffs...Joe Torre is nothing special, I have said it for 5 years, anyone could have managed this team to the playoffs.

I like that. He's been dealing with average teams his whole life going back to Cleveland and makes the most out of them.

Absolutely 100% agree. I'm right there with ya! Mattingly was my childhood hero. I have all of his rookie cards.
