They are the best franchise in sports hands down. They don't care as much as you and others think they do. At least they put themselves in a position to win every year, im sure you wish your team could as well. Disagree about egos etc, it was a short series and anything can happen. They will be there year in and year out and will be the fav again next year cause they care about winning.

Like I said in another thread.....for someone who stated they were "by no means a Yankees fan" on Monday night during game 1, you certainly are posting a lot in their defense.....like every fucking thread in this forum!!!

They got their asses handed to them, bottom line. With that pay-roll / all-star lineup......they're a disgrace!!

You're right, they will be the favorite next year, and they will once again crash and burn in the playoffs.:nopityA: :nopityA: :nopityA:

Hey I love the Yankees but there is no excuse for their poor behavior on the field. Terrible defense,No Hitting whatsoever.. What a fuckin disgrace to go over 20 innings without a run with that lineup. An entire lineup off All-Stars and to go that long without a run???? Trust me if I could defend the Yankees I would, I've been defending them all year and boy was I wrong..

Hey Gyno....hope you are doing well my man!!! I really thought Detroit had a chance to win the series, but didn't think they'd do it in the fashion they did. Once the won Friday, this thing was over.

Unfortunately....I think the Tigers might have been my only winner yesterday!!:pucking: By far the "ugliest" day I've had in quite some time!!!:cryingcry

Gyno you are 100% correct, what a fucking disgrace. I've been a Yankee fan forever and there is no way to defend them. I've never seen so many poor at bats then I saw the last 3 games. Jeter is the only player with any heart.

Jeter's amazing. I from his hometown area, and he's even a better person than he is player. A true class act by all means. :suomi:

Correct...to reiterate the fairly obvious. By spending the money the Bankees virtually guarantee themselves a playoff spot every year. Once they're in the playoffs they are never going to have worse than a 1 in 8 chance of winning it all. I could only wish that my team, the Indians, had no worse than a 1 in 8 chance of winning the series every year. If they did I might live to see them win it one year.

i'm a huge nyy fan, (37 years and counting). this is one of the most painful years of all.

i think a champion needs a mix of estabished stars and young blood who are hungry and want it bad. these gutty players keep the stars in check, and motivate them. they are young, healthy, and will become tommorrow's stars, not yesterday's broken down old men. in the past, guys like o'neil, brosius, knobloch, tino, girardi, cairo, played that role. ironically, the esabished fat cats never seem to rise to the occasion like them. (reggie is an exception.)

i hope they don't hire piniella, who is way too volatile. i favor mazilli , mattingly, or girardi, jmo.

and i wonder why every team that arod leaves is improved the next year. is this just a strange coincidence, or does he in some way hurt the team, despite his statistics. i honestly don't understand this. wdyt?:smoker2:

You make the playoffs one year and you are winners.....that makes sense. :nopityA:

I live in the land of the Detroit Tigers as well.....and they're once again going to win a playoff series. Gonna be tougher than the Yanks, but they'll come out on top.:103631605
