The more mainstream an issue becomes, the better the educated pieces that come out. Just like in times before, the negative press is no longer really selling, save for if it scares you, so now the thoughtful and defend pieces are showing up.
You guys cant see it, but its a good thing for us.
I have said this before and I will say it again. A sympathetic ear is swinging are way. In addition, its buisness as usual, buisness is booming.

I can't wait for this week to start. It will be up and down in here, but I expect a tug of war in the media this week. The closer to signing, the bigger the circus.
I hope they do sign, in a way. They are flying in the face of everyone, including there own kind. They are likely to prance around, like they reall yaccomplished something, making them look smug etc.
Between now and the election they are likely to continue to act like there word is law, never question them, there is nothing you can do.
Worse thing you can do in politcs, they did with this. They brought a social issue they made a crime to the fore and made criminals out of bankers.
They also cost a number of big, big advertisers, 10 of millions of dollars, as well as number of people have already lost there jobs over this.
Revnege is on the mind of some on the inside. I hope all see how regulation from the inside works, when people have had enough.

Post a comment It seems the poker world has been under siege for the past week or so. With the passage of the Unlawful Internet Gaming Act a little over as week ago, and the media attention the passing of the bill has gotten, it is starting to feel like the poker world is like it used to be - a small gang of people fighting for the survival of this great game.
This coming week, the 'Ambassador of Poker', Mike Sexton is going to fight the good fight in a very public way. PokerNews.com has learned that Sexton is going to embark on a 'Media Blitz' campaign this coming week in New York City, and possibly Washington D.C. in an effort to call attention to the great injustice that has been done to people's right's everywhere with the passage of the Unlawful Internet Gaming Act.
"The mission is obviously to voice the displeasure with this bill that has been passed by Congress, and to speak up for the rights of poker players, and their right to play online poker." Said Sexton
The plan is to do the talk show circuit this week, and attempt to get some information out there about how people are outraged about this bill, and try to get poker's message heard by the masses before the President signs the bill on Friday. So, how did this trip come about?
"Party Gaming called me, and asked me if I would be willing to take the lead in expressing public sentiment against this bill" Noted Sexton "They are going to do a big TV ad campaign, and I agreed to go back east, and do what I can. Although I am a host for Party Poker, I'm mostly going in my role as 'Poker Ambassador' to try to get the word out"
No shows are confirmed at this time, but some of the shows being bandied about are some of the most watched programs on TV, so the message is sure to get out. Sexton should know much more about his itinerary in the next couple days. Mike will not be alone on the press tour. "I'm planning to take Barry Greenstein, and possibly (Poker Players Alliance leader) Michael Bolcerek with me."
Sexton has been on the front lines of the various battles over the years to enhance the rights of poker players, and he says there are a couple messages he wants to try to get out this coming week.
"[The people organizing the press tour] believe that the U.S. is in violation of the trade treaties of the World Trade Organization (WTO), and that's a big point they want to make." Says Mike "Also, they believe by passing this law that Congress is repeating the mistakes that were made back in the 1920's during the alcohol prohibition era"
Like many of us in the poker world, Sexton has watched the elements of the last week unfold, and it hasn't sat well with him.
"It's time for standing up and speaking out on behalf of our freedom of choice, which has been violated"
