Why do we have to wait 40 seconds in between searches?

This is so annoying for someone who does a lot of searches. It didn't use to be that way.

No idea - maybe a software concession that was made to make the site handle traffic better.

I'm assuming searches take more processing power from theRX servers. People could attempt to bring down the board by doing multiple searches.

This is just a guess on my part. Edgar would be the one to know.

you may just have to much clutter in your computer.
i got a new and even at peak times it's lighting fast.

update your system see if it helps

hate waiting on the searches as well..... I search all the time. But if it is something that creates a bigger problem, then I will live with it.

because PHP code in relation to MySQL cannot handle the query load. It wouldnt be as bad here, but the developers of vBulletin made this software for message boards in which have hundreds of thousands of users and threads (such as literotica). So too many query strings would kill the database, which would kill the site...
