I know it's one here in the US but didn't think Canada and Columbus day !

Tried to contact InstaDebit on their chat and they said it would have to till tomorrow to get a response from Security as today is a Holiday.

Maybe it's something else there?:icon_conf

It is their Thanksgiving Day.

In Canada Thanksgiving is celebrated on the second Monday in October. Unlike the American tradition of remembering Pilgrims and settling in the New World, Canadians give thanks for a successful harvest. The harvest season falls earlier in Canada compared to the United States due to the simple fact that Canada is further north.

The history of Thanksgiving in Canada goes back to an English explorer, Martin Frobisher, who had been trying to find a northern passage to the Orient. He did not succeed but he did establish a settlement in Northern America. In the year 1578, he held a formal ceremony, in what is now called Newfoundland, to give thanks for surviving the long journey. This is considered the first Canadian Thanksgiving. Other settlers arrived and continued these ceremonies. He was later knighted and had an inlet of the Atlantic Ocean in northern Canada named after him - Frobisher Bay.

At the same time, French settlers, having crossed the ocean and arrived in Canada with explorer Samuel de Champlain, also held huge feasts of thanks. They even formed 'The Order of Good Cheer' and gladly shared their food with their Indian neighbours.

After the Seven Year's War ended in 1763, the citizens of Halifax held a special day of Thanksgiving.

Dante,
You must not have seen my earlier post about this company. I signed up Friday night with them, but before doing so I had their chat service online and asked a couple questions. Like was it instant if I should sign up tonight, etc. Their online chat rep said yes it was. So I procedded to the aplication page gave them all the information ; which was everything except what I had eaten for dinner in the application. Get an email instantly saying Welcome and that I am approved. The email shows my limit of $600. max daily.
So to Pinnacle I go to make a smaller deposit than that. And it's Declined!!!
I'm not only upset and embarrassed, but mad also. So back to Instadebit's website chat I go --Rep says, he doesn't know why it was declined and that he'll email security. I ask him how long this will take he says I'll get a reply with 2 hours during business hours. (M to F hours; I've forgotten) I said simply close my account. He said he could take care of that. Well I gotno more emails from them and went back to their chat to find out that today is a Holiday and that they will contact me Tuesday or Wednesday.

Neteller--has NO COMPETITION, from these fine folks!
No Neteller--I'm finished. But want to get this Instadebit Closed for certain!

Canada has a Thanksgiving Day.
The Us has a Thanksgiving Day.

Does Mexico have a Thanksgiving Day? I don't believe Cinco de Mayo fits the description here.

Thanksgiving Day for Mexicans is the day they make it over the border and into the US.

Today is the Queens birthday and is celebrated in Canada as the population pledges their undying loyalty and personal assets to the Monarch that they revere as being omnipotent

Canada has no real freedom as the Queen owns everything. French is spoken everywhere and it is icy and cold 10 months of the year

Best Wishes...EF :howdy:

I've ruled out Canada as a place I would ever want to live.

Just a very strong feeling about the place and YES--there are lots of good folks there I have no doubt!
But I feel like I'm dealing with a US beaucrazy which we all hate...but this one seems to have even less a clue than the one here. AND that's saying a lot..
